Reproductive Rights Under Attack: Initiative Petition 108
Join a discussion on Initiative Petition 108 which will subject women who receive abortions and doctors who perform them to murder charges. Participate in a dialog on resistance to reactionary social and political forces. Reproductive Rights is a major concern globally and will be an important topic of Radical Women’s international conference on Oct. 3-6 in San Francisco.

Gay Pride Celebration
“Pride. Bring it.” is the theme for Portland’s commemoration of the Stonewall Rebellion that launched the modern movement for sexual minority liberation. On Saturday, we’ll have a booth featuring provocative literature, buttons, and t-shirts, so come visit and discuss plans to fight back against anti-gay bigots. The festivities are located at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland.On Sunday, June 15, you’re invited to march with the Rowdy Radical Contingent. We’ll gather at NW Couch and Broadway at 11:00am (Step off is scheduled for 11:15am). Bring picket signs, banners, noisemakers, and uppity attitudes, and plan to make some working-class noise for freedom, peace, equality and plenty.

Get ready for Radical Women's conference!RW is holding a conference October 3-6, 2008 in San Francisco! The theme of the international gathering is "The Persistent Power of Socialist Feminism." Speakers from Latin America, Australia and the U.S. will examine women's leadership role in the global struggle against sexism, racism, homophobia, and the suffering caused by capitalism. Workshops on feminist and Marxist theory, the state of the U.S. union movement, immigrant rights, and skills training for women organizers will also be presented.

At this meeting we will be discussing Which Road Towards Women’s Liberation: A Radical Vanguard or a Single-Issue Coalition? Learn about the proud, but too often hidden, history of Chicanos in the U.S. Discover a wealth of little-known information about organizing by farmworkers, students and Chicana feminists in the Yakima Valley and in Seattle. Relearn the hard-won lessons of historic labor strikes and boycotts by the United Farm Workers. Discuss the still debated question of Chicano identity.

Celebrate May Day at a book launch for “Viva la Raza”
Civil rights and labor activist Megan Cornish will talk about her new book, Viva la Raza: A History of Chicano Identity and Resistance, which describes monumental labor battle, surveys the vibrant movement of the 1960s and ’70s, and focuses unique attention on women and Latina/o lesbians and gays. The volume is co-authored with Yolanda Alaniz and has a foreword by the esteemed Chicana/o Studies Professor and historian Rodolfo Acuña.A festive Southwest supper will be served at 1:00pm for a $9.00 donation.
