Antiwar conference in June

Anti-war activists from across the country will meet in Cleveland over the last weekend in June to strategize on how and when the U.S. anti-war movement can hold “the largest possible united mass mobilization(s).” The Open National Antiwar Conference, sponsored by the National Assembly to End the Iraq War and Occupation, features two major demands: Stop the war in Iraq! Bring the troops home NOW!

The conference will be on June 28-29 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 777 St. Clair Avenue NE, in Cleveland, Ohio. It is endorsed by hundreds of groups and individuals, including the Freedom Socialist Party and Radical Women. Attending organizations and individuals can submit their action proposal. Organizers expect national leaders of UFPJ and ANSWER to attend.

The Saturday, June 28 agenda includes featured speakers, presentation and discussion of action proposals, plus workshops. Sunday morning is reserved for a plenary session on structure and organization.

Everyone eager to re-invigorate the anti-war movement is welcome; just register online at www.natassembly.org. To endorse or contact organizers, call 216-736-4704, or email NatAssembly@aol.com or visit www.natassembly.org.

See you there!
