Dialectical materialism 101 or How Marxists Think

June 15 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm AEST

Join us in discussing the method of analysis used by revolutionaries to mobilise for fundamental change. Marxism is a science, a philosophy and a highly rational way of viewing our world, which is in ever-deepening turmoil. Learn about the revolution in thinking devised by Marx and Engels, who combined the philosophy of change (dialectics), with materialism, the belief that consciousness is determined by physical, material reality.

By appreciating the universe as matter in motion, we can understand global events and organise a movement to bring an end to corporate greed and meet human needs. Whether it is ending the occupation of Gaza, stopping imperialist wars like the conflict in Ukraine, or overcoming the epidemic of violence against women, this freewheeling discussion will explore how dialectical materialism is key to unlocking a new future for humanity.

Saturday 15 June, 1:30 pm
A hearty winter lunch will be served for a $10 donation before the discussion, which commences at 2 pm
