FSP meeting: What will it take to make My Health Record supportable?

August 22, 2018 @ 6:30 pm UTC+0

Overwhelmed by the flood of opt-outs from its new digital health record scheme, the government promised to look at it again. But will tinkering around the edges allay the public’s justifiable suspicions about the threat to privacy?  Sex workers, people living with HIV, teenagers, people managing drug and alcohol addiction, the trans community, mental health advocates, sexual and reproductive health services, domestic and family violence workers: the list of those speaking out just keeps growing.

This meeting will discuss how the risks of My Health Record stack up against the possible benefits, examine why opposition runs so deep and explore the changes required before we can give such a scheme our tick of approval.

We’ll also discuss upcoming organising.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm for a $10 donation, and the discussion commences at 7 pm.
