Join the campaign to pressure City and County officials to turn vacant and underused public properties into homes
End Homelessness Now-LA is a grassroots campaign that calls on city and county officials to use their vacant and underused land and buildings to build, own, and run permanent supportive public housing, shelters, and safe parking areas for unhoused people.
It has been over two and a half years since L.A. voters voted to raise $1.2 Billion to build permanent supportive housing for 10,000 unhoused people, but no new apartments have opened. The City is squandering public funds by brokering deals that give huge profits to developers and landlords. Meanwhile, many properties that local governments own or could acquire sit idle.
Well-funded public ownership and management of low-income housing can get the job done better, faster, and cheaper. Local governments must band together and just do it!
Come to the next meeting and help build the campaign.
The event will be held at Solidarity Hall.
