A win for Mumia!

Political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal, falsely incarcerated for most of 37 years, recently won a significant court battle. This is a victory that has been a long time in the making!

The facts are simple and appalling. On Dec. 27, 2018, U.S. District Court Judge Leon Tucker ordered the rehearing of four rejected appeals. Tucker cited bias and “lack of impartiality” by Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Ronald Castille for his decision — an astonishing admission of widespread malfeasance. Mumia finally has a chance to prove his case for a new trial which could overturn the racist framed-up murder conviction.

It took a war waged by activists and lawyers — in the streets and courtrooms — to win this chance of freedom for Abu-Jamal. His support came from across the globe because he has been a beacon of revolutionary hope. Even when he was on death row, Mumia Abu-Jamal wrote, educated, and advocated for the rights of the oppressed.

His freedom now depends on massive public support telling Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner not to appeal this decision so Mumia gets his day in court.
