Eyes wide open
Thank you for your excellent article on the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). It opened my eyes about that organization.
I clicked on the link at the end of it to sign the petition, and a message came up: “This site can’t be reached.” This may be just here in Germany, where the government is frantically and fanatically pro-Israel. Has anyone else had trouble reaching it?
Some of our basic liberties are increasingly under threat, and from so-called liberals. Insidious and dangerous.

Trans prisoner abused
Thank you for putting on the FSP website a link to an article about Singaporean trans woman Vickreman Harvey Chettiar’s horrific experience in a male prison in Singapore. (Visit worldwithoutprisons.org and search for Chettiar.)
Harvey’s mistreatment is driven by the transphobia of a cold bureaucracy that treats her as male, as well as transphobic individuals within that bureaucracy who have chosen to pile on the damage.
Meanwhile, how Harvey incurred criminal charges and eventually came to be detained for pre-trial remand in prison is part of a broader story about state and religious interests, including those of the American Christian far right opposed to trans rights and bodily autonomy.
Socialist groups such as DSA have taken interest in and covered this as well (instagram.com/reel/C5Ly88mufK6).
Given the physical and mental traumas described in the article, Harvey’s ability to work and earn for herself
after release will likely be hampered.
