US China policy touts warmongering

As Biden turns up the volume on “the China threat,” he escalates the U.S. menace. Four more U.S. military bases in the Asian Pacific region will soon block China from the South China Sea. And the U.S. is set to sell nuclear attack submarines to its ally Australia for about $365 billion.

China is not the threat that U.S. politicians claim. It has eight military bases, seven in the South China Sea. Uncle Sam has about 313 bases in East Asia alone, and about 800 globally. Obviously, it’s time to abolish Pentagon-dominated foreign policy.

But China is competitive economically. In 2013, it surpassed the U.S. as the world’s largest trader of goods. And it monopolizes the planet’s rare-earth metals critical to military and technology industries. China has not invaded Western imperialist countries, but it is encroaching on their economic superiority. That is the problem. Capitalist rulers will always choose their obscene privileges and power. So the Biden administration is grooming pro-war support.

In these times, any military solution, which includes the possibility of nuclear warfare, is an environmental catastrophe waiting to happen. Dismantle the U.S. war machine now!
