The future of JobWatch is under threat. Richard Dalla-Riva, Victorian Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, has told the service: “ It is my assessment that the activities for which the previous government provided funding are no longer clearly aligned to the objectives of my department.”
This could mean the closure of JobWatch, a vital information and advocacy service to assist vulnerable workers to secure their basic rights. On hearing this news, JobWatch promptly went public, launching a campaign.
