Freedom Socialist Party statement sent to Argentina’s Partido Socialismo y Libertad on the death of Irene Aragona due to pancreatic cancer
I am writing on behalf of the Freedom Socialist Party to convey our condolences to the family and comrades of the Partido Socialismo y Libertad (PSL) for the loss of Irene Aragona, a woman who dedicated her life’s energy to liberate workers and the oppressed in Argentina and around the world. I had the opportunity in 2019 to meet Irene in Buenos Aires. I will never forget the warmth of her personality and the focus and strength she expressed as a pioneering socialist feminist leader dedicated to forging revolutionary alliances across national boundaries. For our part, Irene will always remain an inspiration to march forward here in the heartland of world imperialism under the banner of the Committee for Revolutionary International Regroupment (CRIR).
