As revolutionary parties working to build international collaboration, we send our solidarity and support to all those in the U.S. bravely defending immigrants against ICE raids and mass deportations. We deplore President Trump’s deployment of thousands of National Guard troops and 500 U.S. Marines against the civilian population of Los Angeles. We denounce the Democratic Party Mayor Karen Bass for imposing a curfew to strengthen the forces of local and federal repression.
The CRIR parties in Latin America have direct experience with military dictatorships. We know that in the face of organized state violence it is critically important to unify organized labor and movements of all the oppressed against the imposition of undemocratic regimes. We stand in solidarity with all those fighting in the U.S. to build broad support to preserve civil liberties and promote self-defense against the rise of authoritarianism. We support organizing united fronts against emerging fascist forces emboldened by the actions of President Trump and the lack of an effective response by the Democratic Party.
