The Freedom Socialist Party in the U.S. and Australia adds its voice to the growing protest denouncing the arrest and disappearance in Ebril of three members of RJAK (Movement of Free Women of Kurdistan): Xewla Mihemed Hesen, Ciwana Edulbaqi, Seyran Hesen. These Kurdish women leaders were detained by security forces of the current government of Iraqi Kurdistan led by of the KDP. (Kurdish Democratic Party) of Nechirvan Barzani. To date the KDP has refused to provide any information to RJAK regarding these three Kurdish women leaders. As a socialist feminist party, we condemn the KDP for this act of state repression and hold President Nechirvan Barzani, the leader of the undemocratic regime in Iraqi Kurdistan, personally accountable for the safety and welfare of these unjustly detained Kurdish women fighters.
Free Xewla Mihemed Hesen, Ciwana Edulbaqi, and Seyran Hesen now!
