Sirs:
We are writing to protest the seizure of the Free Gaza Movement boat, the SPIRIT OF HUMANITY, and the abduction of 21 international human rights workers who were on board. This is an outrageous attack on a group that was bringing desperately needed aid to men, women and children trapped inside Gaza by the Israeli military.
When, oh lords, when, is Israel going to cease persecution of the Palestinians and anyone who supports their right to the basic necessities of life? I am sure you hate the comparison, but one can only think of the awful suffering the Nazis imposed on the residents of the Warsaw Ghetto before they shipped people out to concentration camps when reading about the horrible conditions the Israeli government subjects the residents of Gaza to.
One wonders if the “Ministry of Justice” actually exists in Israel and, if so, why is it so unconcerned with justice?
The Freedom Socialist Party joins the world in demanding that Israel immediately release the humanitarian aid and human rights workers that were aboard the Spirit of Humanity and return their boat. We also demand that you open the border between Gaza and Egypt and allow travel and trade once again. The Palestinians are living on the edge of extinction because of the policies of your government. Surely, some day you will be held accountable for the terrible suffering you have imposed.
Sincerely,
Guerry Hoddersen International Secretary Freedom Sociailst Party, U.S.
