The first is a resolution passed by MLK Labor, the King County labor council in Washington state, supporting actions “up to and including a general strike” to protect democratic rights, specifically against an attempt by Trump to steal the election.
The second is a Truthout article reporting on this resolution and other labor declarations in favor of a general strike that are gaining traction around the country.
The Freedom Socialist Party, whose members in unions actively took part in winning the King County resolution, applauds these much-needed steps by labor, and looks forward to stepped-up labor movement action to confront all the emergencies working people are facing.
