From Baltimore to Melbourne: What will it take to stop police violence?

April 30, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm UTC+0

In the last month, everywhere we turn there are reports of police being abusive, bigoted, racist or corrupt.

The welcome media scrutiny of Victoria Police has sparked discussion about solutions. Most proposals are piecemeal and will do little to help. To formulate real solutions, it is essential to understand the role of police under capitalism. This meeting will examine who the police serve, what they protect and how we can bring them under community control and address the systemic nature of the problem.

Bring your ideas and enthusiasm to get involved.

Dinner served at 6:30 pm for a $10 donation and meeting kicks off at 7 pm sharp

Location: Solidarity Salon (address and travel information is above).
