Defending the Right to Be Radical!

August 6 @ 12:00 pm EDT

In today’s climate of increasing assaults on civil rights and free speech, how can activists defend our right to protest against the government and right wing?

The organizing lessons and legal legacy of the Seattle Freeway Hall case, in which an historic victory was won by the FSP against a McCarthyite-type witch-hunt, will be a featured presentation. Supported by hundreds of endorsers from the union, women’s, LGBTQ+, Black and other movements, the FSP refused to turn over names and confidential information demanded in a harassment suit. The party ultimately prevailed, and all charges were dropped.

Open discussion will focus on how to fight back against reactionary court dictates, repressive laws and legal persecution—and win!

All are welcome.
