Live Viewing Meetup: Labor takes action for reproductive justice

Join early morning risers at New Freeway Hall in Seattle to watch the National Mobilization for Reproductive Justice’s press conference in Washington DC, outside AFL-CIO headquarters. Coffee and donuts will be available.

The press conference, live streamed via Facebook, will bring feminists and unionists from around the U.S. will gather and speak out on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court Dobbs decision that eliminated the constitutional right to abortion.

Activists there will raise the call for labor to be mobilized in defense of reproductive justice. They will deliver an open letter urging AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler to convene a national labor conference for reproductive justice. The letter asserts that “Labor is in the most powerful position to mobilize thousands of workers in defense of this fundamental right.” It has more than 600 signers, including unions, labor and community groups, and individuals.
