Solidarity with the Palestinian people! Stop the criminal Israeli bombings of Gaza by this racist, colonial settler state!

The Committee for Revolutionary International Regroupment condemns the murderous airstrikes on Palestinian men, women, and children in Gaza by the lawless Zionist state of Israel. The bombing raids have caused massive damage to buildings, roads, and other infrastructure such as water, sanitation, and the electrical power system. Palestinian deaths are mounting daily, including those of children; so far over 200 Palestinians have been killed, including 63 children and 1,500 injured; also 72,000 Palestinians have been internally displaced by the bombing. In comparison, the Israelis have suffered a handful of deaths from Hamas’ bombardment, among whom is one child.

The corrupt Netanyahu government is responsible for unleashing this unequal conflagration. In authorizing the evictions of Palestinian families from their homes in the community of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem, the president provoked the subsequent bombing attacks by Hamas. This led to the David and Goliath contest of strength between the Gazans and Israel in which Hamas is completely outmatched in weapons and military force. The whole situation will only get dramatically worse if Israel launches a ground invasion, as it has hinted it might. 

At this point, Israel is refusing to agree to a ceasefire while Hamas says it is willing, but only if the ceasefire is put in place simultaneously by both sides. So, rockets and airstrikes continue as well as the deaths, at least for now. 

However, strong international support among oppressed and working-class people for the Palestinians and their own protests both inside Israel, and in Gaza and the West Bank, are having an effect. Already English longshore workers’ union have issued a statement condemning the Israeli assault.

The Committee for Revolutionary International Regroupment calls for the continued broad unity of all democratic organizations, unions, student groups, women’s organizations, and Jewish communities in every country to reject Israeli terrorism and to support the Palestinian people and their just demands for return to their homeland, an end to Israeli racism and their full human and civil rights.

We call on the leaders of all countries to immediately break diplomatic, commercial, and cultural relations with the Zionist state and to expel all Israeli military advisors within their borders. We also call for widespread support of the Palestinian-initiated movement for boycott, disinvestment and sanctions against Israeli and international corporations which support this apartheid settler state. 

Since its establishment in 1948, the state of Israel has functioned as a military and political outpost in the Middle East, encouraged and financed first by British imperialism and today by U.S. imperialism. This colonial settler state is the instrument of the domination and expulsion of the Palestinian people from their ancestral homeland while, at the same time, acting as the gendarme in the region against the Arab masses who themselves face plunder, exploitation, and oppression at the hands of their own repressive regimes.

Along with international solidarity and mobilization, the Committee for Revolutionary International Regroupment believes the only way to end aggression and capitalist exploitation in the region is to establish a secular, socialist and democratic state of Palestine with equal rights for Arabs and Jews, integrated into a federation of Socialist Republics of the Middle East.

We demand:

• Stop the Israeli bombing raids now.
• Stop ethnic cleansing in the city of Jerusalem.
• End Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.
• Secure the Palestinians’ right of return to their homeland.
• Boycott Israeli goods.
• End diplomatic relations and arms sales to Israel.
• For a secular, socialist, non-racist and democratic Palestinian state.
• For a federation of socialist countries of the Middle East.
