On the centennial of the Palmer Raids, the original Red Scare witch hunt by the U.S. Department of Justice against radical leftists, Hillary Clinton is keeping the Democrats’ commie-baiting tradition alive. Recently she claimed the Russians are “grooming” an unnamed Democrat running in the presidential primary to become a third-party candidate and champion their interests. It is thought she was referring to Tulsi Gabbard who supported Bernie Sanders in 2016. In the same interview, Clinton brazenly called Green Party leader Jill Stein, a “Russian asset.”

Why would top Democrats steal Republicans’ right wing thunder to launch such a McCarthyite blast-from-the-past, especially since Russia long since became capitalist? They want to undercut popular rebels in their own party and stop third party renegades.

Clinton is targeting them to take the rap if the conservative wing of the Democratic Party can’t beat Trump at the polls in 2020. She signals to all they must stay faithful to big money interests the party’s fortunes depend on.

This should be a lesson to Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and other lefties embedded with the Democrats. Success is impossible in a Cold War party led by such calculating Neanderthals.
